The Greater Boston area is home to many exceptional nonprofits, but the ones that serve moms are especially close to our hearts. Boston Moms is excited to spotlight and support the local nonprofit organizations that make our area so great.

This month we are showcasing Mom Bomb!

Local mom Heather Roberts founded Mom Bomb out of personal experience. Years ago, Heather got sick with a debilitating illness that changed her life both personally and professionally. After 10 months of excruciating pain, she promised herself that if she got through it, she would dedicate her life to easing the burdens of others who are experiencing a crisis.

Let’s learn a little bit more about Heather’s mission at Mom Bomb — and how you can help!

What is Mom Bomb’s mission? Mom Bomb was created to help mothers who are going through a crisis. This nonprofit helps moms by providing grants for services that will allow them to focus on the issue at hand and grow beyond their current circumstances while stabilizing the entire family in the process.

Who does Mom Bomb help? Mom Bomb defines a crisis as anything that destabilizes a mother trying to manage the many demands of motherhood. This nonprofit has helped women who became ill and couldn’t make it up the stairs to do laundry, women who lost their jobs and needed food, women who needed support after escaping domestic violence, and many other crises. Mom Bomb recognizes that a crisis can look different for everyone.

Specifically, what does the organization do to help? Each grant recipient can choose from one of the following categories: laundry service, cleaning service, meal delivery service, or childcare. Then, we customize each grant to fit the needs of the mom we’re supporting.

How can we support Mom Bomb? You can support the organization in two ways: by buying their products and by monetary donations. Both generously support the mission of helping mothers in crisis.

What products does Boston Moms recommend? Some of our favorite products are their lavender shower steamers, the bath bomb set with a magic surprise for kids, and the spa tonic bath salts, foot soak, and shower scrub.

Chelsey Weaver
Chelsey is a "central Mass" girl who married her 7th-grade sweetheart. She attended both undergraduate and graduate school in Boston, then taught high school on the North Shore for seven years. After living in Winchester and Melrose for several years (and moving too many times), she and her husband finally settled in Groveland in 2015. She loves the North Shore and everything it has to offer, and she enjoys raising her daughter there. Chelsey is the community engagement coordinator for Boston Moms and is mostly a stay-at-home mom. She spends lots of time advocating for children with disabilities, arguing with insurance companies, and looking for disabled influencers, inclusive companies, and materials that celebrate neurodiversity. She avidly listens to audiobooks, hates everything about coffee, and, most importantly, loves being a mom.
