Boston Moms Getting-Out Guide :: June 2022

Summer is officially here! The kids are getting out of school, the sun is shining, and it’s the perfect time to enjoy the great events a Boston summer has to offer! 

Need some ideas to get out and explore? Boston Moms has compiled a few of our favorite events happening around Greater Boston this June!

June 1-7

Cirque Du Soleil Presents: CRYSTAL

June 1-12 :: Boston

The weather may be hot, but the atmosphere at CRYSTAL is as cool as can be! Combining the art of circus performance and the world of figure skating, the audience will be immersed in a whimsical, frozen playground during this spectacular performance! 

La Salette Shrine Spring Carnival 

June 1-5 :: Attleboro

The carnival is coming to Attleboro! Ride the rides, enjoy delicious food, and have a fantastic time with the family! There will be fireworks on Friday at 9:45 p.m. Partial proceeds benefit La Salette Shrine. 

Boston Public Schools City-Wide Arts Festival

June 2-3 :: Boston

All are invited to attend this amazing event, featuring music, dance, and theatre performances by more than 1,000 students from all 33 Boston public schools! 

Opening Day Festival at Hale Farm

June 4 :: Beverly

Bring the family to this fun, free festival celebrating the opening of the summer season at Hale Farm and Balch House! Play family games, shop with local vendors and artists, enjoy kids’ activities, house tours, food, and even a Gentile beer garden! There will also be a food drive for Beverly Bootstraps. 

Toe Jam Puppet Band at Family Fun Day Canton

June 4 :: Canton

Toe Jam Puppet Band will be performing at this free family festival! Kids will love playing GIANT games before the performance! Tickets for an exclusive pre-performance ice cream social with the band can be purchased here.

Don’t miss your opportunity to hear the untold story of the witches of Oz while WICKED is playing in Boston! 

Drool Baby Expo

June 8 :: Boston

New and expectant parents are invited to this fantastic learning and shopping event! Try out new baby gear while you interact with more than 100 companies and local resources!

Family Paint Party

June 10 :: Worcester

Unleash your inner artist at the original paint night! Paint alongside your kids, and revel in the masterpieces you create!

Family Pride Day

June 11 :: Sudbury

Celebrate individuality and diversity at this exciting family event! The event features the unveiling of the Little Free Diverse Library. A parade will culminate with Drag Queen Story Hour with performer Just J.P., and families are invited to enjoy many activities, including temporary tattoos, tie-dye, a bubble extravaganza, an ice cream truck, and much more!

Boston Dragon Boat Festival

June 11-12 :: Boston

Come to the banks of the Charles (between JFK Street and Western Avenue) to cheer on the brightly colored Hong Kong-style dragon boats as they race down the river! Guests of the festival are invited to enjoy Chinese dragon and lion dances, Martial Arts demonstrations, dance and music performances, traditional Japanese drumming, and more!

Jumanji at Moonrise

June 17 :: Plymouth

Watch a movie under the stars at this special fundraising event, and enjoy a full kitchen and beer garden too! A portion of the proceeds will go to the Kingston PTO to raise funds for their students.

Waltham Riverfest

June 17-18 :: Waltham

Celebrate the Charles River with local music, art, food, and culture at this free family event! 

City Splash! Charles River Community Swim Day

June 18 :: Boston

Head on over to the Fiedler Field dock for an afternoon of swimming, splashing, and jumping in the river! The area that is usually reserved for kayaks and sailboats will be open for swimming on this special day. 

Connors Farm Annual Strawberry Festival

June 18 :: Danvers

Celebrate the sweet, delicious strawberries at Connors Farm! Guests can enjoy events such as the jumping pillow, hayrides, cow train, duck races, pedal carts, and much more! Don’t forget to take a train ride on the Putnamville Railroad! 

Jimmy Fund Scooper Bowl

June 18 :: Foxboro

The beloved Jimmy Fund Scooper Bowl is back! The all-you-can-eat ice cream festival will take place at Patriot Place this year, with all proceeds benefitting the Jimmy Fund, which supports adult and pediatric cancer care and research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Wicked Good Playdates 

June 24 :: Chestnut Hill

Little ones will love entertainment by The Jamzone, and moms will have the opportunity to meet and mingle!

Stop by The Green with your mini-rockstar, who will jam on color-coded keyboards, drums, and electric guitars, living out their rock ‘n’ roll dreams of being in a real rock band!

We’ll have swag bags first 50 attendees at each event filled with Boston Moms goodies, items from restaurants and stores at each host property, and samples from some of our favorite kid-friendly brands, including Boston Baby Nurse & Nanny, Littlemore Organics, Unreal Snacks, 88 ACRES, GoSili, Nanobébé, and Tubby Todd!

School’s Out Block Party

June 24 :: Fitchburg

Jump for joy and celebrate the end of the school year! Inflatables will be set up in the parking lot of FunStuf until 4 p.m., and then the party will move inside until 8 p.m.! 

Disney PRIDE in Concert

June 25 :: Boston

Don’t miss this magical event! Boston Gay Men’s Chorus celebrates LGBTQ Pride with the iconic music of Disney in a first-of-its-kind collaboration with Disney Concerts with memorable video clips from Disney films and storytelling celebrating diversity and perseverance.

Braintree’s 4th of July Celebration

June 25 :: Braintree

Celebrate the 4th of July at this fun, annual celebration! The parade kicks off at 11:45 a.m., followed by an afternoon of fun events, food trucks, and music! The event will culminate at 9:30 p.m. with the biggest fireworks display in the half-century history of the event!

Meet the Instruments with Brookline Music School

June 27 :: Brookline

Interested in music but don’t know where to start? Come meet some musical instruments at Brookline Music School! This fun introduction to music is an engaging way for kids to learn about instruments such as cello, clarinet, drums, flute, french horn, percussion, piano, saxophone, trombone, trumpet, violin, and more.

Deanna is a mom of five (yes, five) children, who lives in Brockton with her small circus of kids, her husband, their dog Penny, and a few cats. Her life is loud, energetic, mostly fun, often gross (did she mention four of those kids are boys?), and she wouldn't have it any other way. In between carting kids to school, baseball, gymnastics, guitar, dance, track and field and every other kid activity known to mankind, she works as a school bus driver for the city of Brockton, and is the Director of Religious Education at the Unity Church of North Easton, a Unitarian Universalist congregation. Deanna also holds degrees in Elementary Physical Education and Dance Education, which she plans to put back into use one day. At parties, Deanna can often be found hanging out with family pets. She follows her children around with a camera like the paparazzi, is pretty sure that 97% of her blood stream is made of coffee, and her laundry is never done. You can also find her blogging at
