Parenting- Boston Moms

In an ideal world, parenting would be effortless, with a guide for every situation. However, we all know that’s not the reality. Each child is unique, requiring special love, care, and nurturing. So, without a parenting manual, what can you do? That’s where Boston Moms comes in. Our team consists of more than 40 contributors from different backgrounds and family structures, bringing a diverse range of experiences from various walks of life and parenthood.

Parenthood is an amazing journey, filled with challenges and beautiful moments. The anticipation and mixed emotions during pregnancy mark the beginning of this transformative experience. The newborn phase brings sleepless nights and countless diaper changes, but oh, the incomparable joy of witnessing your baby’s first smile! As your little one blossoms into a curious toddler, the journey transforms into a whirlwind of managing tantrums, fostering independence, and cherishing their first words and wobbly steps. The school years unveil a whole new spectrum of challenges, as you navigate the delicate balance between academics, extracurricular activities, and the intricate world of social development. And as the teenage phase unfolds, their identity takes shape, boundaries are established, and the need for open communication becomes paramount. Every stage of motherhood, though it can be tough, strengthens the unbreakable bond between a mom and her child.

Our goal at Boston Moms is to be there for you during every stage of parenthood, offering resources and support. Whether you need guidance or just someone to be there, we want to walk alongside you in your parenthood journey.

I have found myself so pleasantly surprised by the joy of the soccer game. My daughter is in first grade, which, in our area, is the first year of town soccer. She's playing on her school's team with about...
One of my biggest fears was traveling by air with my toddler. It was for this very reason that we delayed traveling with our son over long distances until recently. When he was almost 20 months we figured it...

'Tis the season of Thanksgiving and gift giving, time with family and friends, turkey, and the first crisp days of winter. This time of year, there is a lot of talk of gratitude and appreciation — we may take...
Wait! Before you slam me for setting feminism back 60 years, let me explain. I, like many women, am a feminist (in that I'm an equalist — I believe men and women should have the same rights and opportunities). And...
As I was preparing dinner last night I learned about what was happening in Paris. It's a city close to my heart for many reasons; I lived there, I'm part French, it's a culture that's deep within me. I tuned...
I've never seen a negative pregnancy test. I've never counted the days on the calendar, waiting and hoping, only to get my period and experience heartbreak. I don't take my temperature or keep track of my cycle. I don't...

So you’re a brand new mom, huh? We know what it's like: Nurse, change diapers, nap, repeat! Maybe you’ve navigated the scary waters of packing your diaper bag and heading into the streets, stroller in tow, ready to go and...
If you know me, you know I'm a happy gal. I love smiling, just like Will Ferrell in "Elf." Because the truth is, I do feel like a room without a roof, because I really actually am happy —...
My 4-year-old loves to get his way (what 4-year-old doesn’t?), and he is the king of negotiating/manipulating a situation to achieve his desired result. He is at an age where he strives to be independent and has the drive to try things...
Anyone remember that scene in "Baby Mama" where Maura Tierney catches one of her kids with brown stuff on their hands and asks him, "Is that chocolate or poop?" then proceeds to lick it off before getting an answer. "It's...
